Rachel Alejandro Mall Tour

I had this chance to host another artist tour at SM Batangas, this time, Rachel Alejandro. It was quite easy for me to host the event for Rachel herself did most of the kwento. She shared several stories related to her songs before every number. And so for like a 30-minute mini concert, I only did some VOs, intro, simple interview and outro. It was one of the most relaxing (less tension) hosting gig I did.

The event was by the way part of Rachel’s Mall tour and album (BELIEVE) promotion. Released under Sony Music Entertainment, Rachel’s album Believe contains the songs “Bakit Hindi Tayo?” (penned by Cholo Escano), “Hanggang” (an Amber-Marcus Davis collaboration) and “The Rain” (written by Rachel herself). The remakes are “You Were There” (by Southern Sons done in duet with her father, Hajji Alejandro), “Xanadu” (Olivia Newton John), “Don’t Stop Believing” (Journey) “Alone” (Heart) and “There’s A Fine, Fine Line” (from the musical Avenue Q).

Generation Glee Showchoir Showdown, SM City Batangas

Last year in the Search for Mutya ng Fernando 2009, it was Gerlie who hosted the competition because I was part of the board of judges. This time, we exchange tasks – I’m the host, she’s a judge.

It was the Generation Glee Showchoir Showdown at SM City Batangas where glee clubs from different schools competed for the chance to represent Batangas in the Regional Finals of the said competition. This was inspired by the hit US musical-dramedy series, Glee.

We were so excited with this event. Why? Gerlie and I are Gleeks (Glee fans). There were only three showchoirs though. But it felt like watching a Glee episode live right in front of us. Because I was inflicted with the Glee virus, I generously share information about the series since majority of the audience do not really know Glee.

Supermoves Cheerdancing Competition 2010

Supermoves 2010 is an annual cheerdance competition among grade school and high school students from different parts of Batangas. Held at the Event Center of SM City Batangas on July 22, 2010.

It was the day after Gerald Anderson’s mall show and my senses still haven’t recovered from the euphoria of that gig. So the next day, I went to SM City Batangas again, greeted and coordinated with the same people for the Supermoves 2010.

In any hosting gig you have to be prepared. You have to know your spiels, the flow of the program, the people involved. Sometimes you were only given a little background of what will happen in the event and how it goes will depend on you. Good thing these were all provided for this Supermoves 2010 event.
