Raylan put up a website dedicated for their wedding. He wants gimmick for the wedding reception so we thought of games for people to enjoy. But the couple was reminded to still include old wedding traditions such as eating of rice cakes, sharing a bottle of drink, and throwing of rice grains and flower petals all done before they enter the reception hall.

Gerlie and I both enjoyed this wedding. At some point we both don’t know what to expect but it turned out to be one of the best hosting gigs we’ve done so far. And for a wedding, it was even more special.

The wedding was held on June 5, 2010. The wedding ceremony took place at the Redemptorist Church (the couple was fortunate to have the permission to be married in this church) followed by the reception at Luntian Resort and Restaurant, San Sebastian, Lipa City.

The couple had their reception at the bride’s place. The celebration, just like the Jhoenald and Gemma, was simple. We had the usual wedding program – the wedding tradition, some games and speeches and couple’s first dance. It was easy for me as a host to share some of the couple’s stories for we (Dyan and I) had a chance to bond Gemma and Jhoenald at BlueRoze months before the wedding.

So where’s the touching part? Well, it was after the celebration when I saw Gemma and Jhoenald bursting in tears as they bid good bye to Gemma’s parents and relatives. Couldn’t help but cry for everyone there was taking their hankies out, wiping their tears and hugging the couple. Oh such a lovely and touching scene. Priceless.

Jeff De Castro and Ning Bautista’s wedding was like a fairytale – carefully planned, lovingly prepared. The ceremony was held at the Our Lady of Miraculous Medal chapel inside Fernando Air Base followed by a posh dinner at Bluroze Farms.

It was a formal dinner reception so Gerlie and I glammed up because as wedding emcees, we’ll be in front of everyone until the conclusion of the event. They had Juan Carlo as the caterer that’s why the reception hall was turned into an even more elegant and romantic venue to witness such important event for Jeff and Ning.

They had an event coordinator so everything was all set and our only task is to carry through with the rest of the evening and make sure the program won’t ruin the lovely atmosphere. We did what we’re supposed and expected to do, carried on with the program and made the important people of their lives participate in this celebration of love between Jeff and Ning.

Organizing weddings, on the other hand, could be a bit weighty. A lot of leg works and coordinations should be done accordingly and perfectly. A month before the wedding, you have to make sure that everything will transpire as planned.

Just like in this wedding. Henry and Maricel’s nuptial, is indeed an example of a simple, organized and a happy wedding celebration.
