American Idol Season 9 Winner: Lee or Crystal?
UPDATE: Lee Dewyze is the new American Idol!
American Idol Season 9 belongs to whom? Lee Dewyze or Crstal Bowersox?
Well, in the Top Three night, Lee got comments any AI contender would wish to receive in this time of the competition. Kara says Lee is what the show is all about. And Rounds 1 and 2 all belonged to Lee on last week’s performance night.
But on the Final 2 performance night, Lee got his nerves all wobbly again. He was often tagged as the shy guy and that side of Lee showed up again, at the very moment when it shouldn’t be there. Crystal, from the judges’ remarks, could be the next American Idol.
Round 1
Lee performed “The Boxer” : So-so. He lacked energy for this one
Crystal performed “Me and Bobby McGee” : A little more energetic that Lee’s
Round 2
Lee performed “Everybody Hurts” : Better than the first one but his nerves waved hello to Simon. Geez.
Crystal performed “Black Velvet” : Judges went ecstatic. A standing O from Ellen.
Round 3
Lee’s would-be winning piece is “Beautiful Day” : Or is it really? There goes my Lee, sliding down to boredomville. But hey, Simon eased it up for Lee. He can’t stop calling Lee the nice guy. Well I can’t argue with that.
Crystal’ would-be winning song is “Up to the Mountain” : And up is where Crystal was heading after her final song. Randy said it’s incredible while Simon marked it outstanding.
I still think Lee has the making of a star. Okay, so I’m with Team Lee. Crystal has that astounding voice but I still think Lee, if we would look back on the previous Idols, can be more associated with this competition’s big winners.
