Its Lee Dewyze vs. Crystal Bowersox for the finals! Who will be the ninth American Idol?
America has voted. And they slashed Season 9’s guitar hunk Casey James. Last night’s episode belonged to Lee as the judges were all in praises of his two performances. Let’s have a recap of Tuesday night’s performances from our top three.
Casey got the it-was-just-okay votes from the judges but they can’t still argue with the fact that Casey’s got that charm that people (especially the women population) could not resist. He sang OK It’s All Right By Me and Randy and Kara’s choice Daughters by John Mayer. Even if he was voted out, music producers might be falling in line just to sign this hot guitar hunk up from Texas.
Crystal, as always, wowed the judges with her powerful voice. She indeed has that spunk to make her reach this far for this season. She performed Close to My Window and Ellen’s choice, Maybe I’m Amazed. As my uncle calls her, Mamasox is really a huge talent that’s so hard to beat! Until Lee Dewyze owned last night’s episode…
Lee first sang Simple Man (his choice) and then Hallelujah (Simon’s choice) – the final song of the night that made it all appear like it was already the finals night. The crowd’s cheers and applauses lingered for quite a few seconds before Randy Jackson could finally speak.
Hallelujah has been sang for a couple of times on Idol. Before Lee performed the song, it was only Jason Castro’s version from Season 7 that made a huge impact on me. And then Lee sang it. He was just so, so amazing. And from how I see him since day one, this guy really has the voice and the heart.
This is his much-talked-about version of Hallelujah.
