How to Take Care of Your Nails
Natural nails have always been a preference of most girls and I think for most men on girls too. I have talked to some men and they seemed to like those girls with simply clean and natural nails than those with colorful nail arts, stones and other artificial nail (i.e. Acrylic, fiber, gel, linen, silk). And though natural nails are relatively low maintenance, these should also be cared for properly.
No to harsh acetone. Be gentle with your nails. Natural nails need to be treated carefully. The use of pure acetone to remove old nail polish can often cause nail discoloration and dryness instead use a nail polish remover. Use an acetone-based formulation enhanced with moisturizing oils that removes nail polish fast without drying and discoloring your nails.
Don’t cut cuticle! The cuticle protects us by preventing bacteria or fungus from entering our body.Never cut your cuticles or cut your calluses. These are your bodies armor. The cuticle protects the nails from infection, and the calluses give you shock absorbers . When you cut them, they will grow back thicker and harder, and possibly create an infection. The best way to take good care for your cuticles is to apply a good quality cuticle oil and gently push them back with a orangewood stick. You may carefully trim any hangnails or for best results, schedule a manicure with your nail technician.
Moreover, clipping cuticles when it is hard can cause unwanted cuts that may lead to infection and pushing the nails when it is dry can cause an uneven surface.
Keep your nails clean and healthy looking by apply a healthy light pink tint that cleans and disinfects your tips like a cuticle sanitizer.
After clipping, shaping and pushing, brush around each nail and wipe off with a cotton ball or clean towel to disinfect and sanitize your cuticles without those harsh pink stains.
In addition, moisturizing, rehydrating, or putting oil or lotion to your nails is important. Frequent washing of hand is good to keep you santized but sometimes, it can cause dryness of the hands and nails. And so it recommended to put a generous amount of lotion to your hands, after washing it with soap. Also, use a good quality cuticle oil and gently rub into your cuticles twice a day. For really chapped hands & feet, dip in paraffin wax is highly recommended.
